Who Is God?  This question has been asked by every human at one time or another. Ancient man believed in many gods—the god of war, the god of the ocean, the god of gods, and so on. All of them had names. Since that time many religions have been formed—all around the specific god of their beliefs. Prophets spoke of and wrote about the powers of the specific gods. The point I'm making is that there has not been a new god (about which a religion/s was based) to come to the forefront within the last 2,000 years. The last known is the God of the Jews which when modified 2000 yrs ago with the advent of Christ became the God of the Catholics and since then the God of the Protestants. The next point is that the concepts of what each of these Gods are, was formed by the opinions or beliefs of prophets who spoke or wrote over two thousand years ago. Think about that for a moment. It means that what you believe about God was formulated by some guy/s over 2000 years ago who claims to have communicated with god himself

The first question I might ask is, “Where are the women?” Were they too unimportant to communicate with God or were they just illiterate and couldn't write or express themselves? Are our opinions totally controlled by men? Think about that for a moment. If you were to ask your 95 yr old grandfather how your wrist watch worked, you might get a good explanation, but if you asked him about how your I-Phone worked, what kind of answer might you get?

I'm not saying that your grandfather is stupid, but he certainly is ignorant about I-phones and there's nothing wrong with that. Ignorance gives us a chance to see things differently. Stupidity keeps us locked into the past mistakes. Yes, the prophets were smart people of the time, but is it possible that they were ignorant? Please think about that for a moment.

What do the various bibles of the various religions teach us? Don't they teach us how to treat our fellow humans? And aren't they important lessons?

But then, think about it for a moment. What about the holy wars and the wars today among Jews and Muslims? Or Muslims and infidels? Think about that for a moment. Do any of the bibles of these religions instruct humans of any religion to go to war with humans of another religion? Is that how the prophets of olden time would want us to treat our fellow man whether they believed as we do or not? Think about that for a moment. Is religion freeing us or enslaving us in prejudice against our fellow man?

But who is God? Is he/she the same for all religions? I believe so and let me tell you why. First I'm a trained engineer—a man of science. I'm also a specialist is stress management techniques as I also operated a stress management clinic for many years.

I ask myself first, “Is God all knowing?” What do you think? I think so. Now having taken courses in mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, statistics (probability) I'd say that God would know everything that I'd like to know about theses sciences, wouldn't you?

I'd next ask myself, “Is not everything we know about the universe governed by these laws of the universe?” Is it not true that since the time of the ancient Greeks and Egyptians there were those who were trying to figure out how things worked. It's apparent that anything they didn't understand was credited to god.

Man looks at the beauty of a rose and says to himself, “God must have created it.” God as a super being who had an affinity for roses. Of course at some time he must have had an affinity for dinosaurs and may other creatures and plants that are long ago extinct. Does he get tired of them and let them die out? Think about that for a moment. Just because we don't understand something we believe a deity is responsible.

Just maybe instead of God being a super deity external to each of us, God is the laws of the universe. And is not everything in the universe a manifestation of these laws. On a side note, it may take us centuries before we know how some of these laws work in total. In fact is it possible that when we study these laws of the universe, we are really studying God?

But what does this mean? Might it not mean that each of us (being a manifestation of the laws of the universe) are god just as the Christians believed Jesus was God, so are each of us? Think about that for a moment.

It would mean a completely different way of looking at the world and everything in it. The first thing that probably comes to mind is a thousand questions with answers that are presently ruled by our beliefs based on our past perceptions of God as to why this premise is blasphemous. But isn't that what we do—label anything that we don't understand that questions our religious beliefs as blasphemous?

But just think for a moment what this would mean. It means that everyone you contact is God. And if everyone knew this reality, how do you think humans might treat each other? Would they steal from God? Would they go to war with God? Would they disrespect God? Just think what kind of great world this would be if everyone approached everyone as Jesus did centuries ago. Even though he did not like usury (humans (gods) taking advantage of other humans) he was a humble person and free of ego issues.

The obvious question that might come up is that if you are God, then why do you have the crap in your life that limits you? Answer: Maybe it's our limiting beliefs we've acquired from everyone in this world who believed God was a deity and as such believed that we have limitations.

When you know you are God, you learn to rely on yourself for making changes in your life. You stop blaming others or creating excuses for your short comings. You take charge of your life. You determine what your purpose in life is and you fulfill it. And if you're one of those who hates him/her self, you will learn to love yourself.
